Description:
This Olivetti Lettera 25 with Spanish diacritics is one of my favorite Shopgoodwill finds. It arrived intact from San Diego.
The prior owner of this machine engraved his name inside the bottom plate. He also outfitted the case and machine with stickers which I have no plans to remove. The stickers have mostly to do with automotive things. I concluded that he was some type of mechanic in Chula Vista, California, in the 70s and 80s and beyond. The machine has some scruffs and scrapes, and I like to imagine that he used the typewriter in the shop to type up invoices for clients in both English and Spanish.
This typewriter is full of history, character, and charm. It is also smooth to type on, and very lightweight. The wide keys are very comfortable.

I love to write and found that writing on a typewriter is the most enjoyable and distraction-free way of doing it. I started with an Alphasmart, then moved to a Royalite, then to an Olympia SM5. The Olympia kept me fully satisfied for a good seven years until I got the bit by the collecting bug. Now I am slowly amassing my own personal typewriter museum. Typewriters are like personal printing presses. My partner is an engineer who can fix and clean any typewriter, so we make a great team.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 25 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 25 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
