Description:
1151. I have tried to pick up an IBM Selectric and they have always sold for more than I was willing to pay. This was was $10 (shipping was more) from Goodwill. It has some issues, one of which is that it appears the motor needs some kind of lubrication (seems to be spinning too slowly), as well as what appears to be a stuck space bar (turn it on and it spaces across the carriage). I am hoping the Youtube videos from Phoenix Typewriter will help me get this one running.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM Selectric II on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM Selectric II By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
