Love it or hate it - the all-plastic outer shell, that is - these West German portables have the guts of a well-engineered machine. And they rival any typers of the era when it comes to solid, responsive typing feedback and performance. In fact, the J5 reminds me of the third generation Hermes 3000, which dates to the same decade and also relies on plastic for its shell. And like the Hermes, the Adler excels where it counts: the typing experience.
This J5 sports Adler's version of the popular and modern-looking sans serif, squared-off "cubic" typeface family, which Adler calls Pica Cubic.
