Description:
This transplant from New York is super-clean right out of the case. A previous owner must've been familiar with the scratch points as evidenced by the tape strategically placed on the side where the lid slides and in the back where it fits onto the tongue. Nice red metal ribbon spools inside.

First started using a SMC Galaxie Twelve to type out and paste a zine in high school in the late 80's - I've been picking up typewriters as opportunity presents itself ever since. It's more of a casual hobby than a compulsion. Writing on a typewriter seems just the right speed for not getting ahead of what I have to say.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Galaxie Twelve on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Galaxie Twelve By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
