Description:
This is a heavy, powerful, fast, and sophisticated electric typewriter, with some very complex mechanisms.
The serial number does not fit the range provided in the database (7301000-7934515) so I'm just guessing at an approximate date.
The machine has a paper injector and can use a carbon ribbon. The force of the strike can be adjusted, as can the position of the platen.
The carriage comes off easily when you remove two screws. (But first, "extract the plug," as the warning label says!)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler Electric 21d on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler Electric 21d By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
