1973 Royal (Silver-Seiko) Medallion II Serial # CWL 3567227 1973 Royal (Silver-Seiko) Medallion II typewriter, Serial # CWL 3567227 Tony Reynolds's 1973 Royal (Silver-Seiko) Medallion II typewriter. 2024-08-19 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Tony Reynolds: 1973 Royal (Silver-Seiko) Medallion II Serial # CWL 3567227 Bought this because I’m a sucker for a pristine machine and wanted to save it from the scrap pile. Found at a St. Vincent DePaul store in Albany, Oregon for $9. Label on machine indicates it was purchased from The Typewriter Shop in Tacoma, Washington. Case appears to have been in storage for a long time, but the machine itself appears to be unused or used very little: No dust, eraser shavings or white out. Spotless outside and inside. Nice typer, elite typeface. By the design of the platen knobs, I suspect that this machine is an Litton/Adler design built in Japan, but by whom? Nakajima? Brother? Silver-Seiko? Since I found a reference to a Medallion I being made by Silver-Seiko, I'll run with that?

Retired industrial designer, now serving as a pastor. I have a collection of about 75 machines. I specialize in portables, and have only a few electric machines. In my opinion, typewriters and bicycles are the best examples of the man-machine interface. I live in SW Washington State, USA.
