1973 Olympia SG3 Serial # 7-2858132 1973 Olympia SG3 typewriter, Serial # 7-2858132 Tas Kyprianou's 1973 Olympia SG3 typewriter. 2024-02-04 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Tas Kyprianou: 1973 Olympia SG3 Serial # 7-2858132 I was given this and have now promised it to a friend, who'll be picking it up soon. It types way better than my other SG3 and when cleaned and tuned (it will need a good de-WD - there's WD40 in there and it will need to be dissolved to bring it fully back to life), it should type better than my beaten-up SG1. The 21" carriage is huge but super smooth. Classic Olympia, excellent build quality and thought for maintenance. The carriage pops off thanks to colour-coded yellow levers.

I find the grey keys a lot nicer looking than the wall of beige-cream ones on the earlier models.

Elite-sized typeface - 87 code.

Relatively new to the hobby - My first machine was an Everest Mod 90 that I bought after watching a Violet Evergarden anime in December 2021.
My collection now consists of 41 machines.

My absolute favourite remains (just) my 1939 Royal KMM. For me, it's both the prettiest and the "warmest" to type on. It has "Majik" (with a nod to Sandy1)
I count my blessings that I am lucky enough to have amassed such a beautiful bunch.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SG3 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SG3 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
