1973 IBM Selectric I Serial # 21-9534189 1973 IBM Selectric I typewriter, Serial # 21-9534189 Cole Ehmke's 1973 IBM Selectric I typewriter. 2024-08-18 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Cole Ehmke: 1973 IBM Selectric I Serial # 21-9534189 Now functional after degumming, cleaning and lubricating. Was once a teaching typewriter as indicated by the number on the top (54, in magic marker) and that most of the keys had been painted over. When I came across it many of those keys had had the paint scratched mostly off, leaving scratch on many keytops. I replaced the worst ones and cleaned up most of the rest. I left a few as a reminder of its history. Found in the north Kansas City/Independence, Missouri area.
