Description:
Erika 30, 40 and newer are the workhorses of the former Comecon countries. They were very popular and are still easy to find at auctions today. Their value is therefore not great.
However, the sentimental value is huge. Thousands of doctoral dissertations, professor books, articles and textbooks have been written on these machines. They were light, fast and quite reliable.
I still use this typewriter to this day when I need to type something quickly or fill out a form.
The differences between the models were not large. Better models had a tab stop and a right margin lock. The latter function is easy to add - just screw a piece of metal plate to the right margin adjuster.

Typewriters were always around me. Some have been with me all my life. Others I saved from being thrown in the trash when the computer age came.
I'm not creating a museum. My typewriters are used. Rarely but regularly. Therefore, the collection is not large, and each machine has a Polish typeface.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Erika 30 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Erika Serial Number page and the Erika 30 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
