Description:
This is the first typewriter that I ever collected. I got it as a birthday gift several years ago.
I have only seen one other Smith-Corona Sterling from this era in a collection online.
Update 11/24/2016: Since posting this gallery I have seen more of these late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterlings.
Update - 8/7/2017 - Left the collection. Sold with four others to a teacher who intends to show them to his students and have them use them with supervision.
I said good-bye to another old friend. While there was some sentiment, I hardly ever used it, so I am glad to see it moved on to someone who will give it use.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
