Description:
Other than a quick wipe-down and quick pick-out of the slugs, this is as-found. Some rusty bits, mostly at the rear of the machine. Doesn't look too serious, just terrible looking. I compared this with the Olympia, and while the body styling is a clear rip-off, the mechanics are quite different. So NOT a rebadge of a Olympia Traveller de Luxe. Made in Japan.
Machine has the serial number behind the left ribbon spool, but inside the back of the case is the sticker from Sears with the model number.
This types pretty well- I was surprised at how crisp it was, and I didn't even load a new ribbon in it.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Portable on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Portable By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
