Description:
I bought this typewriter in non-working condition. The owner had left the typeslugs to rust into place in the segment after spilling into it what looked like tobacco spit. Among the detritus that fell out of the machine when I detached the bottom plate was a cigarette butt. With some TLC (and a lot of naphtha and cleaning), I have restored the machine to working order.
The typewriter is unusual in that the capital letters align with the top of the lower-case letters, rather than the bottom.
(That is, the 'top of the capital T' in the word "The" would align with the top of the letter 'e' instead of with the letter 'h'.)
The unusual vertical alignment is consistent with all capital letters, so I assume that the engineers purposely designed the machine this way.
Type font is unk. to me at this time.
