Description:
The lightweight Royal Caravan a.k.a. Royal Fleetwood has an interesting 1970s "faux bois" or wood grain typebars cover with a matching handsome case. Typing action is not bad for such a small machine, but there's a rather flimsy plastic feel to it. There's a Silver Seiko variant with a built-in radio. Made in Japan. This one eventually found its way to Cambridge Typewriter (Tom Furrier).

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Caravan on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Serial Number page and the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Caravan By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
