Description:
A really nice example of this hip 70s typewriter. Power carriage shift with manual return. It has no tab set, just the fixed 10. It is feature limited. Would it hold up in the field as a school typer? Probably. These use a wide flat belt and seem to hold up ok. This one is on its original belt.
Litton sold a lot of them. The last ads petered out in mid 1975 with close out pricing. The ad here is from 1975.
This was a one owner machine that came with a nice Royal Empress, so they were brand loyalists.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Apollo 12-GT on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Serial Number page and the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Apollo 12-GT By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
