Description:
This is the first version Lettera 36, with the round keys; the second version--which are way more common--had square keys. I wouldn't recommend anyone start out collecting with one of these; the excessive repairs and adjustments are not for a beginner level. The carrying case is plastic, so are the cases' hinges: those will give out eventually. This machine has an Elite typeface. Made in Spain. Update 3/8/19 sold this typewriter to Robert from Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

After finding a Smith-Corona Coronet 12 at a curb-side (in Winter while walking the dog) I carried it home; after it thawed out and started coming back to life I was hooked. My interest in this hobby lead to taking two parts typewriters to create one good unit. This typewriter aliment is (pretty much) in-curable!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 36 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 36 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
