Description:
After I accidently stumbled on reddit on the typewriter sub, my love for typewriters was rekindled. I used to have an Olympia SG1 in my room. A massive beast. I knew I wanted to own a typewriter again. I googled a bit, and came across a shop in the Netherlands that sold refurbished typewriters. This lovely little machine caught my eyes immediately. I had to have it. It is a lovely little thing, with a working AM radio in the carrying case. Not that I can get many good stations with it, but I really love the wood look. The only thing better would be a real wooden ribbon cover.. The German QUERTZ keyboard does need some getting used too. Especially since I'm used to AZERTY.

I fell into the typewriter rabbit hole due to nostalgia: I used to have a massive Olympia SG1 when I was a kid. It formed my typing habits, which is why I am called a "furious typer" by my coworkers. Came across the r/typewriters page on Reddit which rekindled my love for these wonderful machines. Lets just hope I don't start pushing screens off my desk when I reach the end of a line...
I also have a modest Youtube channel where I document the progress of my typewriter journey: https://www.youtube.com/@Slug_Life
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) 260 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal (Silver-Seiko) Serial Number page and the Royal (Silver-Seiko) 260 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
