Description:
UK keyboard
Congress elite
Dated from sales receipt. The information on the SKM seems to be incorrect based on this evidence. (Also, the SKM is listed twice, once as a "Compact Standard" and again as an "Electric Compact", neither of which have serial numbers that fit with this date.
This appears to be a wide-carriage SM9 with some changes to make it look more imposing on a desk.

I started collecting typewriters in 2006, but what started it all was using my mother's Brother Student-Riter XL1 in 2004. The next year I received my grandma's Smith-Corona Silent, which was enough to hold me over for a little while but eventually led to an obsession with manual portable typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SKM on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SKM By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
