Description:
I acquired this third-generation boxy/plastic Hermes 3000 with international QWERTY keyboard and 11 cpi typeface via Facebook marketplace from a local Chicago-based seller. It types excellently, and is my first experience with the much-hyped 3000. It does make me want one of the earlier metal-bodied ones even more now. It has a somewhat overzealous tab brake, but otherwise works great.
Update 2022-01-23: The tab brake is actually just fine. Once I removed the carriage (which is pretty easy on these machines) and wound the mainspring a bit, everything worked much better.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
