Description:
A prime example of Eaton's 400 model from 1970. Manufactured by Silver-Seiko under Litton's Royal name, and re-branded for Eaton's department store, this typewriter shares many of it's components with a wide variety of alternate models that were manufactured and sold during the 1960's and 1970's. Although this line was sold in large quantities, the Eaton 400 is not as commonly found as the more universally branded Royal Mercury, 200, Tab-O-Matic, etc. So I was perplexed to find a second one in relatively short time between each other. And once again, it is a very pleasant experience to use. The photographs present the machine as-found, due to the fact that the machine has not been serviced yet, as I only found it yesterday (March 5th 2018)

This gallery represents the machines owned by good friends Dirk Plante and Sean Doole, who reside in British Columbia, Canada. Together they have established Venneburg Typewriters, a partnership that to date has seen over 400 typewriters since 2009. Here you will find the machines that are currently still in possession or that have come and gone since December 2017.
***As of July 2020, this collection now also represents pieces from the collection of Troy Krahn!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Eatons (Silver Seiko) 400 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Eatons (Silver Seiko) Serial Number page and the Eatons (Silver Seiko) 400 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
