Description:
"Big & Bad"
I acquired this from Duane Jensen (PhoenixTypewriter.com) in February 2021. I am thinking this machine is from the late 1960's to early 1970's due to its serial & front faceplate. It has a single black ribbon installed because of its large typeface: Speech-Riter No . 29 (6 CPI) and is missing the dedicated "1/!" key that's seen on other SCM Electras of the same era. It has a very hard platen. I also think this was a "special order" from the factory. It is definitely a unique typewriter that I am very happy to have in my ever growing collection.

Just a "Typewriter Nut". I like collecting technologies from the past such as typewriters especially the ones with special/rare typefaces. There's just something about learning how things were made (& worked) back in the day!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Electra 120 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Electra 120 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
