Description:
This is the machine that started my interest and curiosity. It is marked as an Olympia Traveller de Luxe, which I found in a charity shop in the Canary Islands. When trying to purchase a new ribbon, only an Olivetti would fit.
The jury is still out, but this Brazilian made machine would appear to be an Olivetti Tropical in disguise!
It is a lovely typewriter and I enjoy using it, although I doubt I will use it for my next book.
Any suggestions, comments regarding history welcome.

I am a writer, author and blogger living in the Canary Islands. Although I haven't used a typewriter for many years, my interest was recently kindled when I found an Olympia Traveller de Luxe lurking in a charity shop. When trying to buy a new ribbon, it seems that this machine is not all that it seems...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Traveller de Luxe on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Traveller de Luxe By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
