The Olympia SM series had great success from the late 1940s through the 1970s. This SM9 comes from 1970, it's a nice typewriter, sturdy and accurate. The body is still aluminum, not plastic, and the knobs are black and white (in the last version, after 1977, they will be all black).

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
