Description:
My first submission to the TWDB Galleries cannot be anything else than my first typewriter. Bought in 1998 in a second hand store in Skövde, Sweden, long before I became a typewriter collector. I was studying at the time and was freshly taught about the Memphis Group and the various designers involved. I was delighted to find this bright red typewriter designed by Ettore Sottsass for a mere twenty bucks in a local thrift store.
My copy has the very classy Quadrato font.
It's still in its slightly rough but fully functional original state, and I will leave her so until I run out of typewriters to renovate/repair. No need to hurry because this is my forever typewriter, even if far rarer and exclusive typewriters will cross my path!
