Description:
The black vinyl and silver Olivetti Lettera DL was the typewriter Francis Ford chooses to work on his script for "The Godfather" with Mario Puzo. There is plenty of photographic testimony showing Mr. Coppola working on this very typewriter model (take a look at: http://mrtypewriter.tripod.com/olivettiletter.htm).
Mine was made in Olivetti's Ivrea plant (Italy), and its keytops are rounded, not square as usual. Perhaps the same keytops used in Olivetti's Valentines.
Is a solid portable, with a beautiful silver case and a snappy feeling.
One to easily write a long movie script, even if you are not Francis Ford Coppola (who you are not, aren't you?).
A jewel in my Olivetti's typewriter collection. Love it!

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera DL on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera DL By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
