1970 Hermes 3000 Serial # 7052235 1970 Hermes 3000 typewriter, Serial # 7052235 Mark Petersen's 1970 Hermes 3000 typewriter. 2015-02-05 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mark Petersen: 1970 Hermes 3000 Serial # 7052235 I have been looking for a boxy body Hermes 3000 for a few years now and have passed on many priced too high. Not only was this $25, it has both platen knobs too! The original owner whom I bought it from purchased it in 1970 partway through college and wrote exactly 4 term papers on it and that is all. Besides some eraser dust and a few stains here and there this machine is pretty much new and types very nicely. It was made in France and feels very much like a cross between a curvy body and a plastic 3000.

In case anyone wondered what an original spool for a French h3K looked like... I threw it away because it was far too cheap and flimsy to reroll on to. It looks nice, but it is the flimsiest plastic I have so far seen on a spool.
