Description:
Covered in smoker's film throughout, and loaded with correction paper backings and residue. A complicated machine that I am unfamiliar with, along with a tough cleanout, what could go wrong?
-----------------------------
Some tension along the way, but it all worked out. The backspace needs a little help sometimes. There was a spring broken on the mechanism and I think my replacement is too strong. Along with being filthy, it was UV discolored. All the parts and panels responded well to the treatment with the exception of the spacebar. A very interesting entry into the compact office electric category.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
