1970 Erika 42 Serial # 4468135 1970 Erika 42 typewriter, Serial # 4468135 Kewin Sanfridsson's 1970 Erika 42 typewriter. 2025-01-08 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kewin Sanfridsson: 1970 Erika 42 Serial # 4468135 Another Erika typewriter with the German keyboard. This one being a model 42 in a very good state as well as the Daro I added a few days ago. This was the other one I was talking about in that gallery by the way. Just did some of the normal maintenance on it, cleaning the slugs, get rid of the dust and other grime, lubing up some of slugs which were stubborn to move. I did also add some grease to the ribbon lifting system because it didn't want to go down after pressing a key. It did the job, now it won't get stuck but it's a bit slow to go down sometimes. So I guess I might have missed some spot as I didn't take it apart. I also accidentally remove a bit of the green within the colour ribbon selector squares. It types how I would except it doing as it's not a top of the line machine. I also know that the "Ü" key needs to be adjusted a little upwards, of course also a new ribbon. Otherwise I would consider it in fully working order and also in a beautiful condition.

Hi my name is Kewin and I'm a 24 years old from Sweden. I have a few hobbies like drawing and playing guitar but I do also like myself some project here and there which is where my interest in typewriters fits in. I have always collected things through my life but I did not expect typewriters to be my next big passion in collecting. I started collecting typewriters in the beginning of 2022 and so far I have 95* of them (4 of which is currently disassembled) . I find it really enjoyable to pickup a typewriter at a thrift store/second hand and starting to clean it up and get it to a working condition to the best of my ability and knowledge. (Excuse all the dog hairs in my pictures, I do actually try to remove the hair before taking the pictures. xD) Cheers!
