Description:
Grabbed this 1960's Coronet as a not working unit w/ case. It takes a lot to kill one of these things so figured I'd see what's up; the motors starter clutch had thrown a screw and the other one was loose: easy fix! The 1's linkage was disconnected, again easy fix. The ribbon was threaded wrong in the metal spools causing bind; just replaced with new aftermarket ribbon. Re-glued the factory UL sticker to surface. One self-taping lid attaching screw was in the machine and the threads were shot, so I pulled another from a parts unit I have. Anyway she's a good typing machine now; the alignment was exactly where I wished it to be so I never adjusted it. The z and q were lazy, but a squirt of lube: ta-da the type specimen red and black settings. Update 6/1/2023 sold this unit to Erin.

After finding a Smith-Corona Coronet 12 at a curb-side (in Winter while walking the dog) I carried it home; after it thawed out and started coming back to life I was hooked. My interest in this hobby lead to taking two parts typewriters to create one good unit. This typewriter aliment is (pretty much) in-curable!
