This was my first "real" typewriter which I bought for myself for $48 via eBay. It tends to skip quite a bit as worn out Smith Coronas often do, but I have since learned how to type on it without it skipping more than two or three times a page. It seems the Classic 10 might be a rare machine which makes me feel a lot better about what I paid for it in my inexperienced desperation to get a real old typewriter (compared to my Roytype!)

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Classic 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Classic 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
