Description:
This is a mid to late 1960's Sears Tutor. I don't find it matches the serial numbers provided in this database. I've always loved Sears (Tower) typewriters, even if they are just re-branded machines. I bought this one off of Ebay because I love my Sears Scout so much and this one was very similar, plus was a great color. It is different from the Scout in two ways, one, it has the rear page supports/guides, and two, even different from the Smith Corona Corsair which it's re-branded from, it has an angular key cover which comes to a point, the front of which "lips" over the body. It's a fantastic typewriter!

I've been collecting for about a year now and have, so far, 22, no wait 24, maybe 26 typewriters...they just keep appearing!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Sears Tutor on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Sears Serial Number page and the Sears Tutor By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
