Description:
This one was a challenge. Someone with a Reddit degree decided the way to adjust the motion was to move the carriage mount around. Clearly, an attempt to loosen the motion locknuts with a pair of needle-nose pliers first. A cascade of things went wrong after this, including the typebar guide being loose, which means the typebar U fell out of place, the right side margin didn't work, the ribbon lift was off, and last but not least, a stripped carriage knob locknut.
I don't use it very often anymore, but I saved the knob by setting it up in the drill press and drilling the locknut. Success!
The lit package includes a fold out sales brochure.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to anyone area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Studio 45 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Studio 45 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
