Description:
Originally owned by a Mr. Travis from Los Alamos, New Mexico, this typewriter was imported by another person wishing to start using typewriters before I acquired it in Ottawa, Ontario, before Christmas 2021. It has a standard US/Canada QWERTY keyboard configuration and came with a deluxe, black leatherette case.
Typeface is the beautiful Director Pica which has some bolded features.
When I bought it, the machine did not work. I repaired and adjusted it and replaced some parts to make it work. I have succeeded in properly re-adjusting the platen.

Bonjour! I am from the region of Montreal, Quebec and moved to Ottawa, Ontario in 1992.
Amateur watchmaker and machinist, I love anything mechanical, hydraulic or electric. I have restored American and Canadian clocks and small lathes, milling machines and a jig bore.
Most of my typewriters have French Canadian QWERTY keyboards, with some exception for rare finds.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes 3000 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes 3000 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
