1969 Hermes 3000 Serial # 3549139 1969 Hermes 3000 typewriter, Serial # 3549139 Beau Henry's 1969 Hermes 3000 typewriter. 2021-01-05 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Beau Henry: 1969 Hermes 3000 Serial # 3549139 Stuffed with hair and dust and coated in a greasy nicotine patina when I picked it up, but otherwise worked great. Cleaned up nicely and types well. The platen is hard, so I tried the heat-shrink trick and it will work in the short term until I send it off to JJ Short. I especially love the glossy, polished keys on this machine. They aren't the "hospital green" of the previous years, but they are still beautiful and feel great on the fingers.
