Description:
This is a solid typewriter, with good action and lots of features. If you wanted to write the Great American novel and this is what you had, you'd be in good shape. It just doesn't have that individuality you find in other machines. It's probably from the plastic. Plastic has no patina. Still, you'd get many good years out of this

Retired from tech support and finally able to focus on analog again. I was involved for awhile with the Typosphere in the early 2000s. Still have my Smith Coronas. Completed NaNoWriMo in 2006 on a Smith Corona Silent Super as part of the Typewriter Brigade.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Adler J5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Adler Serial Number page and the Adler J5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
