Description:
Freebee from marketplace.
Needs a good cleaning and polishing, looks a bit smoked.
Kitchen degreaser to the rescue of those old plastic covers.
Be carefull, don't use it on paint and decals.
I couldn't find this model in the serial numbers list, nor could I find this particular serial number with the added 5 in front.
I've looked at some galleries and decied to reference to those and the SF portable serial numbers list.
For now, dated at 1968.
Paolo provided usefull information, thank you.

Well, with the names the situation is a bit more complicated. SF stands for Schreibmaschine Flach ("Flat Typewriter") and was the code used by Olympia when the first introduced the reiseschreibmaschine in 1956. The generic model name was kept until about 1958, when Olympia decided to propose a full range of ultraportable, introducing the model name Splendid with the number 33, 66 and 99 from the bottom to the top specifications model. In the proper sense, all of them are "SF".

Hello,
Typerwriterfan from the Netherlands, recently bought a few typewriters again and started cleaning and adjusting them.
I haven't touched a typewriter in a long time, but it's fun working with them again.
This is a great database and I will try to contribute too.
Have a nice day,
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Splendid 33 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Splendid 33 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
