First saw this typewriter back in high school while watching the documentary Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse about the harrowing pitfalls and near catastrophe that was the making of Apocalypse Now.
Got it for a steal on eBay after saving and zooming in on a pic and realizing it was cursive. It arrived in working condition from Iowa of all places. I just cleaned it a bit and warmed it up and she was good as new.
The Lettera 33 doesn't get much love on eBay and often times goes unsold. When it does sell, it's rare to hit triple digits and instead is usually sold in the modest $30-50 range which makes it a truly affordable typewriter. I wholeheartedly recommend this machine - despite it's relative lightweight, it is a solid and easy typer. The keys don't depress very far down like other machines and that makes it easy to type since it doesn't fatigue fingers. For me, it is a keeper for sure.

I live in Orange County, California with a wife and 2 sons, I have 80+ machines, my favorite brands are probably Olympia and Voss for their engineering but I've also got a thing for Olivetti for its style. Nothing too unique there. Nowadays however, I'm into 1930s and 1940s glass-topped machines and I am increasing my education on those brands and models. I think this site will help.
