Description:
Here a second series Olivetti Lettera 32 in light blue, a very common typewriter of the most common color. Until 1970 the Lettera 32 was produced in Italy in the Ivrea plant, starting from the following year (approx. serial number 6000001) also in Olivetti plants in Spain and Yugoslavia. From that year the back plate no longer bears the indication "made in Italy."

I have been an Italian typewriter collector for many many years. At that time, I loved very old typewriters from late 1800s to early 1900s. After a break of a few years I returned to collect typewriters but no longer so old, I prefer now the design of the 40's, 50's and 60's. Yes, I am an affectionate collector of Olivetti, of course, but I'm attracted to all the other brands from that period, not just Italian.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti Lettera 32 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti Lettera 32 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
