Description:
Italian (Ivrea) Olivetti Dora (aka 31) like brand new. Bought in Buenos Aires from its original owner, an Italian lady who scarcely used it. Hence it has an Italian keyboard. This plastic white typewriter still smells like a new one despite it being over fifty years old. It still retains its original delivery two-color ribbon, whose length is very short (weird Olivetti economies indeed!).
That ribbon is obviously dry, so I still need to get a new one in order to add the typeface specimen sample (I promise!)
By the way, these typewriter lines were drawn by the Maestro Ettore Sottsass (bow).
Over its ribbon cover, you can find the distinctive Greek Spiral, created in 1954 by another Olivetti design genius (Marcello Nizzoli).
As long as I can find looking at other Doras in the TWDB, the Greek Spiral can only be found in those Italian-made Doras.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti DORA on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti DORA By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
