Description:
1968 IBM Selectric Model 723 that I bought at a thrift store back in 2001 or 2002. It worked perfectly back then, but it hasn't been used in over 10 years. Therefore, it is currently inoperative.

I have a small collection of both manual and electric typewriters (used to have more). I started collecting when I was in my late teens back in the late 80's. The first vintage typewriter that I bought was a Smith Corona Silent from around 1939. It was burgundy colored with keys that had a black background and white letters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the IBM Selectric I on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the IBM Serial Number page and the IBM Selectric I By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
