Description:
It has a plastic shell but is a sturdy and weighty machine underneath. Right carriage knob was shattered in shipping but all the pieces were there and I epoxied it back together. The carriage arm on these has a throw of 3 1/2" to advance the line. It throws 2 inches before any engagement. A Smith-Corona throws half an inch before engagement. Not a major annoyance, but just noting. One of my favorite typers for any long form work.
