Description:
This was my second machine, bought out of the desperation I felt to have a machine with me at college that had a case. Off eBay at that. Only $34 with shipping if you can believe it! Angie took me far, but the Super Sterling was just like my Classic 12 and her signature Oasis Green color was soon displaced by my spray-painted Clipper, and she was sold for a profit of about $6 to a prospective author in a utility truck. God speed, you mean green writing machine!

![Under the ribbon cover. This machine was sold with the only monocolor ribbon I've ever owned, which I regret in retrospect because I'd never actually buy solid black again. Under the ribbon cover. ![Side profile. Angela, named after Helen Reddy's song "Angie Baby" because I listened to that song on repeat at the time I bought her, was a lady with many minor issues. A sticky key, some rust, and a shattered carriage release lever, the latter you can see taped back together above. Side profile. I'm a relatively new collector hunting for anything inexpensive that I can get my hands on, functionality being a second thought. I have to learn somehow, right!?
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Super Sterling on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Super Sterling By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
