1967 Smith Corona Super Sterling Serial # 6SS-161748 1967 Smith Corona Super Sterling typewriter, Serial # 6SS-161748 Jacob OBoyle's 1967 Smith Corona Super Sterling typewriter. 2023-04-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Jacob OBoyle: 1967 Smith Corona Super Sterling Serial # 6SS-161748 This was my second machine, bought out of the desperation I felt to have a machine with me at college that had a case. Off eBay at that. Only $34 with shipping if you can believe it! Angie took me far, but the Super Sterling was just like my Classic 12 and her signature Oasis Green color was soon displaced by my spray-painted Clipper, and she was sold for a profit of about $6 to a prospective author in a utility truck. God speed, you mean green writing machine!

Under the ribbon cover. This machine was sold with the only monocolor ribbon I've ever owned, which I regret in retrospect because I'd never actually buy solid black again.

Side profile. Angela, named after Helen Reddy's song "Angie Baby" because I listened to that song on repeat at the time I bought her, was a lady with many minor issues. A sticky key, some rust, and a shattered carriage release lever, the latter you can see taped back together above.

I'm a relatively new collector hunting for anything inexpensive that I can get my hands on, functionality being a second thought. I have to learn somehow, right!?
