Description:
For free..looks like an astray inside and out.
I've done some cleaning and was able to create a typeface specimen.
The machine itself is in good shape, platen in good comdition. clear print.
The body ..well, that is not in such a great shape.
Maybe a paintjob..don't knw yet.
Update april 2025
I have tried to get al the muck of the machine and have tried anything short of paint-stripper..
Nothing could get it clean.
I decided to do something different and use a product that you should never use on paint and used the effects to my advantage..
I gave the machine a "vintage patina" myself.. using a scrubbing pad and kitchen de-greaser.
For now I'm happy with the results, it feels very smooth..no sharp edges in the paint from the scratches anymore.
Not finished yet..I do want to smooth out some other spots.
The de-greaser worked magic on the keys as well..Half of them bright and clean allready.
The body of the machine was not salvageable anymore..so now just playing with it.
I can always paint it later on.

Hello,
Typerwriterfan from the Netherlands, recently bought a few typewriters again and started cleaning and adjusting them.
I haven't touched a typewriter in a long time, but it's fun working with them again.
This is a great database and I will try to contribute too.
Have a nice day,
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia Splendid 33 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia Splendid 33 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
