Description:
A friend handling an estate sale in New Jersey in March 2024 reached out to see if I was interested in this typewriter. Dirty case and needs a new ribbon, but largely functional and came with small manual and cleaning kit. Full cleaning and ribbon replacement pending.

I am a computer systems engineer and author living in the San Francisco Bay Area. I began collecting typewriters in 2021 when I bought a 1938 L C Smith & Corona Super Speed at a garage sale and then took it to a local shop to be refurbished. I have a knack for the mechanical, so I transitioned to doing some repairs on my own.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
