Description:
Form marries function in this beautiful typewriter with precision response. It is a joy to use. It's only the 2nd typewriter I've received by mail, and although the seller packed it meticulously, it did receive a blow that bent the paper release lever on the right. I formed it back into shape and otherwise this machine is in pristine condition and works great. I love the baby blue/black color combo. (This color was poetically named "blue" by the company, according to the manual, but I think it's safe to describe it as baby blue. It was also produced in grey and two blue-and-grey combos). The black case with a red lining is handsomely designed with pockets for the manual and cleaning brushes. The serial number can be found under the left side of the carriage, facing backwards. Purchased from Doug Jackson in Ohio.

I am a librarian, artist, writer, and co-author of the book Desegregation in Northern Virginia Libraries (The History Press, 2023). If I'm working on a book or article for publication, I'm on a computer. However, I use my typewriters to create poems, type-doodles, art, and to write snail mail letters. I find the tactile nature of typing on a manual machine soothing and joyful. Each typewriter seems to have a soul and a story. Currently my collection is centered around midcentury models.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Facit TP2 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Facit Serial Number page and the Facit TP2 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
