1967 Facit TP2 Serial # P539630 1967 Facit TP2 typewriter, Serial # P539630 Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters's 1967 Facit TP2 typewriter. 2019-05-13 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters: 1967 Facit TP2 Serial # P539630 This Facit TP-2 rebranded Speedwriter is a Swedish manufactured portable, made in 1967 with the typing-style of an Remington "All-New". Mechanically it is close to identical to a Halda, Swedish other notable brand of typewriter manufacturers. This particular example was repainted with rattle-can spray by Sean, and coloured in a tasteful copper fashion. Although the build-quality and sustainable design are well thought of, from a mechanic's stand-point, working on one of these typewriters is done with much frustration due to the complexity of the build-strategy. The carriage, for example, uses a shaft-style guidance to slide left and right. This might be efficient in operation, but in practical mechanics, the difficulty of disassembly is severe enough for me to pass on these models. However, rather than exclusively bashing the mechanical design, I must say that there is clear proof of mechanical thoughtfulness and consideration for the writer.
