Description:
I know next to nothing about this typewriter, not even what model it is. Manufactured in Nagoya, Japan, the Japanese design shows, though. When viewed from the side, the typewriter has a weirdly slanted look. It also has levers and controls which I have no clue what are for. (+ and -, H and L, which I assume are High and Low, but high and low what, exactly?)
Danish keyboard (ÆØÅ)

Danish-American journalist turned writer and translator, recently bitten by the typewriter bug. Still a novice when it comes to fixing machines. Grateful for helpful hints.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Brother JP-1 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Brother Serial Number page and the Brother JP-1 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
