Description:
The Speedwriter Collegian is a rebranding of the Consul 225, imported from Czechoslovakia and reassembled and sold in Canada. The same machine was imported into America as the Commodore Collegian.
There so many similarities between the Consul 225 and the Consul 224 that it's easier to list the differences:
* 225 has no tabulator; 224 support 3 tabs.
* 225 doesn't have the paper support arms.
* 225 doesn't have the two levers that allow the carriage to be removed entirely.
* 225 does have a touch selector but it's a lever under the ribbon cover on the left side instead of a dial on the front.
They have no base plate, which is somewhat alarming but actually kind of convenient, as they're almost self-cleaning. Just don't try to balance it on your knees.
