Description:
I picked up this SM9 at an estate sale. I picked it up on the last day of the sale for $50. It was very dirty, but working. The platen is in decent shape. The #2 key looks like it broke off at one point and was glued back on. I'll need to get that fixed. The tabs are not working well, currently. The capital letters are higher than the lower case letters and need to be adjusted. This is my first project machine and I love it. I hope to get it fixed up to be my primary typewriter. I can see why people love Olympia SM9s. This machine was well-used, but not well taken care of. It will be taken care of now.

I recently started collecting typewriters after rediscovering my love for them at an event. I am fortunate to live in an area with a small group of people who appreciate typewriters. We meet bimonthly and share recent finds and host type-ins to let others in our area discover the joy of typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
