Description:
A fantastic West German made typewriter. It has a good feel to the keys however not quite as solid and snappy as other German. This particular machine is equipped with a
13 inch platen, and with that larger platen calms a significantly larger case. The case for this machine feels more like a suitcase than a portable typewriter. Other than that it is a Great functioning machine and is near perfect cosmetically. It even came with its original receipt and a fully equipped cleaning pouch.

Hello!
My name is Jayson, I live in remote Alaska, and I love the outdoors. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and when I'm traveling I'm collecting things I can't get locally. One item is typewriters.
Being remote such as I am the written or typed word is still very important, whether it is to keep in touch with family and friends or getting a shopping list to the store so a load of groceries can be sent out on the mail plane within a week or two.
Fun fact, in town mail gets flown to Anchorage 410 miles away to be sorted and flown back to be delivered In town! The perfect illustration of government at work. But I digress.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM9 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM9 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
