Description:
Sometimes, the best performing machine is one that looks battered. It works better because it had a lot of use and because it was cared for at some point. That's my SM8. Still types perfectly with no skips, even though it has a few missing screws and needs to be cleaned. It can pay off to take a chance on the less perfect ones.

Retired from tech support and finally able to focus on analog again. I was involved for awhile with the Typosphere in the early 2000s. Still have my Smith Coronas. Completed NaNoWriMo in 2006 on a Smith Corona Silent Super as part of the Typewriter Brigade.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olympia SM8 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olympia Serial Number page and the Olympia SM8 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
